10th Annual Ladies Academy
March 30-April 1, 2007
Historic Jefferson College
Washington, MS

Please join us for a celebration of ten years of the Ladis Academy!  So much has been enjoyed by re-enacting ladies since the inception of the Academy.  Ten years of fun, relaxation, inspiration, fellowship, and friendships!
This year's events include a Victorian High Tea, Fashion show of your accomplishments, Croquet tournament (weather permitting) Bonnet embellishments, fine-stitching and sewing for garments withi fabric selection guidance.  All classes are hands-on so be sure to bring your sewing kit.  Don't forget the traditional swap shop where you can exchange items, either new or used, with others.  The Saturday evening highlight will once again be the famous "Dirty Yankee Exchange" so bring a small gift to trade.

All meals (except Sat. Lunch) will be provided and there will be able bodies to assit in setting up your period camp "home".  Bring your period attire as you will be dressed each day.  The Academy is open to the public and we want to be sure the spectators will experience an 1860's event.  The Ladies Academy requests no men, children or pets for the weekend.

Registration: $35. by March 15.  Make checks payable to "Ladies Academy"

Historic Jefferson College at (601) 442-2901.

Jefferson College, incorporated by an act of the first General Assembly of the Mississippi Territory in 1802,
was named in honor of Thomas Jefferson, president of the United States and president of the American Philosophical Society.
Territorial governor William C. C. Claiborne served as president of the college's first Board of Trustees.
At Historic Jefferson College, the first educational institution of higher learning in Mississippi, visitors can tour a restored dormitory room, student dining room, kitchen buildings, and other historic sites. The adjacent nature trail winds up and down through a wooded ravine, past St. Catherine's Creek, over bridges, past Ellicott Springs, and a historic cemetery, with plants and trees clearly identified along the way.
